This is a very good idea

Should we adjust our proposed weeklong thailand seminar (needs a differrent name to separate this kind of event from our regular two and three day seminars) to use this idea that Yuri has proposed?

We could either incorporate Yuri into ours or hold another one separately on our own.

The cirque inclusion is great and something that we can also easily do with my connections if we choose to go our own way.

We could also see about bringing Jeff Serven down for olympic lifting and Robb Wolf for nutrition.  In such a scenario than either Yuri or another equilibrist could be the handstand instructor.

Vegas is a fun vacation destination; airfares and hotels are inexpensive.

Our staff costs (airfare, lodging, board) and logistics would be enormously less if we were to hold the event in Vegas.

Also as our primary market is the US, this greatly reduces their costs and Vegas is an enticing and relatively easy to reach destination for both Asia and Europe.

Thoughts?

It's a very good idea. I think Vegas also makes a good destination for people to travel to for the week as said.

It occurs to me that I could also potentially arrange for the US Olympic Coach and perhaps some US Olympic/National team athletes to attend.

For that matter, being in Vegas it would be very easy to have Allan attend and perhaps ------ as well if he has a break in his training.

Coach Sommer

We could also tender special invitations to our favorite crossfit affiliates to attend (perhaps with a discount?); CrossFit Foundation, CrossFit 312 (Sean in Chicago), Chikara CrossFit etc.  As well as our favorite special operations students (recon, seals etc)

There Can Be Only One.

Movement Supreme.

Learn to master your own body from the masters of movement.  Rub elbows with and learn from Olympians and World Class athletes and performers.  Explore moving and mastering your body in a whole new way.  Never before has this breadth and depth of knowledge and collection of experts been available to the general public.

Learn GST from Coach Sommer

Learn OL from US Navy Seal and Owner of Trident Athletics Jeff Severn

Learn Nutrition from Robb Wolf

Learn CrossFit Games preparation from OPT/James Fitzgerald

Each day would begin with an hour or two of conditioning with GB, followed by a nice breakfast.

Afterwards we could offer several different blocks of instruction at the hours/times during the week so that students could pick and choose what they would like to focus on learning skill wise either for the whole week or change from day to day.

Great idea, let's run with it.

Coach Sommer

With this kind of a potential lineup, it would not unreasonable to shoot for 80-100 plus students.

This could become the GB premier event that everyone worldwide builds their year around.

- The cost of the various GB courses would also be built into the cost of the seminar/workshop/experience (whatever name we come up with)

- It also occurs to me that for organization purposes regarding the week and integrating so many different factions, I can touch base with a friend of mine who yearly runs a cheerleading competition that hosts 9,000 different teams.  Not 9,000 individuals, 9,000 teams.   :)

This would certainly be easier to accomplish and it would be easier for the US athletes to attend to.  It may be a great place to start pumping up the international seminar for the following year, 2015.  I like the Olympic lifting addition with Jeff and Robb Wolf on Nutrition. Instead to adding on to the IRSHA or NSCA seminars, we simply create our own. Coach do you think you could get the other olympic coaches to join next year?  Vegas is the right place.

Nic Branson

Tremendous potential with this idea. This could definitely turn into a big yearly event that people plan for.

Coach Sommer

I believe that I could get the Olympic Coaches to attend this coming year in 2014.   :)

Basically this framework can be whatever we decide we want it to be for highlighting the efficacy of GB in preparing the human body to participate in whatever type of movement most strikes your fancy.  Consider all of the movement varieties, nutrition, OL etc as the icing while GB is the cake.

Cole Dano

I'm much more comfortable with this than the Thailand idea. The movement aspect will do a lot to bring people in. If Olympic Coach's are involved all the mire so.
