Hi
I would want too buy a pair of good gymnastic rings im a big heavy guy 195cm 120kg and i need some quality rings. I have big hands (i dont know if there is diffrent size on rings?) and i plan too use the rings about 4 days/week so i want them too hold not break after a short while. Please can somebody help me i so dont know which one too get 
Are you planning on training the more technical elements like swings and such or are you only going to be strength training on them?
I got a cheap $30 pair from eBay, online sports store. I'm only doing F1 elements on them so no need for anything special yet. When I start working from support ill make an investment.
Depending on your answer to Bicopni's question, it might be worth getting an entry-level pair and get to know the rings. You will then be more tuned in to what you're looking for when you're ready for good quality.

Strenght training im going too use them too do the foundation 1-4 series on.

Just look on amazon or wherever and buy some rings. They're all pretty much the same. I wouldn't worry about wood vs plastic rings because you'll probably tape them up to get a better grip.
I have done some researsh now and via this website http://www.ringtraining.com/Articles/52-general-info/130-compare-gymnastics-rings.html found out a guy with large hands shud have 1,25'' rings.

Any other website that delivers rings too sweden? Or is this the only choise i have right now too buy these rings?
I live in Sweden and I recently treated my self a pair of wooden rings from Rogue Fitness, which I really like. They have both the fig standard size and a large size. (I got the large one because I also have large hands and find large rings more comfortable to hold on to. With the smaller rings my fingers get squished together in an uncomfortable fashion.)
Only bad thing about rogue fitness was that they shipped using UPS (from Finland), which is an annoyance since I am at work when they try to deliver, so I have to go and pick them up at the UPS center. Maybe you can ask them to send by post instead since their pickup location is much closer.

After reading a whole lot now i came too the conclusion that the rouge rings would the best way too go for me. But im stuck on one question.

I was planning on keeping them in my homemade ''gym'' that are built up with wood. Now there is a roof and the rings would never be directly in touch with water/rain but im insecure becouse in sweden wintertime sometimes it gets below -20*C. So i dont know if this count as ''im having them outside?'' Becouse the environment is cold but (they are not in touch directly with water). So which ones shud i get the wooden ones or the steel ones?
I have never used metal rings. I have plastic ones and wooden ones. I have them indoors and both work perfectly fine. I just liked the look and feel of the wooden ones, so I got them. 
If you are unsure, you could contact roguefitness and ask them.
I would not want to touch metal at -20 C with my bare skin though. 
BTW, if you google "gymnastikringar" or "träningsutrustning", then you can find many stores in Sweden who sell rings online, which might give you other options.

Get the wooden ones. They'll make you feel legit.
Well im used too this kind of conditions. Ryssian style training i guess but its not like i grabbing the steel with my bare hands i have gloves on. Unlucky as i am the wooden one from rougefitness are out of stock coming back later this week guess i just have too wait and go for them

Everyone should use regular sized rings; to do otherwise interferes with more advanced ring strength elements in the future.
The larger sizes some companys advertise is simply due to their ignorance of this fact and their lack of GST experience.

Thanks coach for that information. I was looking like crazy for 1,25'' diameter rings now i have more options available.

Fascinating. I had no idea this was the case. I've even heard less knowledgeable coaches recommend that you can approximate a set if rings with PVC pipe and some rope.
Could you go into any more detail as to what elements the different ring sizes would interfere with and why this is the case?

I think training with an irregular ring size would ultimately interfere with every ring-based element. Keep in mind GST is about simulating more advanced movements. Using irregular-size rings means the simulation is not appropriate. As a result, your body's conditioning will be inappropriate: and non-conducive to more advanced ring work.
Reading the Foundation forum, it is clear that grip strength is one of the biggest things the average Foundation student needs to condition in order to master the ring exercises. Since developing grip strength is so fundamental to prepare for advanced rings work, gripping regular sized rings is fundamental to ensure that your preparation is correct.
I bought Rogue fitness rings. The neon green ones. Been using them for 4 months daily and they're still holding up without any wear/tear.

When you say "regular sized rings" you mean FIG (1.11")? Even for someone like me at 6'2", 210 lbs and always wears XL in gloves?
What I find confusing about the mention of FIG is that it usually accompanies verbiage about "athletes with smaller hands" which to me implies not "regular." They say "standard" is 1.25" like in the Roge Fitness ad.

I would not be overly concerned with Rogues' opinion on ring size. They mean well, but are mistaken in this instance.
Does the diameter of an official Olympic lifting bar in competition change due to the size of someone's hands?
Interesting that the 28mm diameter of an official Olympic Lifting bar is 1.102"; and is actually slightly smaller than the 1.11" FIG rings.

As a newbie to F1, I almost purchased 1.25" rings. Nice analogy. Thanks for the clarification Coach!

I am interested in knowing how harmful is it to use 1.25" rings? I got some before this thread and since I still don't use them much doing just F1 I haven't spent the money to get replacements.
The reason I got these was that the gym where I am a member had small rings, which I tried. I am not sure if these were FIG or not, and whether they were smaller or bigger than FIG, but they were smaller than the rings I had at home since a few years (those I did not like because of a stupid rubber grip on them).
The reason I did not like the "small" rings at the gym was not the thickness of the ring, rather the diameter. The inner diameter was so small that my outer fingers were in part over the inner fingers, pushing and squeezing them quite uncomfortably. The rings I have at home now are much more comfortable to grip.
Am I ruining my future for GST by using 1.25" rings? Superficially, I cannot see how it would make much of a difference.

I think it's a false grip thing more than anything. Every tried a false grip on a straight bar vs on rings? Totally different sensations.
