Hi All

Just started foundation 1 and really enjoying the progressions

The description for Hinge rows (RC/PE1) says start with your glutes off the floor . Does this mean your butt is hovering above the floor for the whole movement? Just pulling yourself up to a sitting position seems rather simple comapred to the other movments, but I want to make sure Im following the progressions properly. The video and images are not clear, it looks like he's sitting. Can anyone clarify this?

Many Thanks

Yes, starting position is glutes off the ground.

In the starting position your body is planked w/ only your heels on the ground.  You pull yourself up while hinging at the hip to form an "L" shape with your body in the upright position.  In the fully upright position my glutes do briefly touch the ground, but I am not resting on them.  It is a touch and go back to the starting position.

Some people may say you should not briefly touch your glutes to the ground even in the fully upright position, but based on the low-ness of my starting position + trying to achieve a good "L" shaped hip hinge in the upright position it feels natural for this to occur.

I too am open to suggestion as to whether a brief glute touch to the ground at the top of the movement is acceptable.

It seems okay to touch the glutes a little, but you should not put your whole weight down.

Thanks gohei, I agree.
