sPL/PE6: Elevated Planche Lean

looks really nice to me! the only thing i can critic is the height of the chair. Your feet should be at shoulder height.

I will say that at this point you probably need to have a gentler curve in the upper back. As you approach the same amount of lean as a real planche you will need to start flattening out your upper back so that more of your serratus anterior is in line with the pull of gravity.

 

Spinal shape and protraction (or retraction) should NOT be co-dependent. You should be able to control your shoulder blades independently of your spinal shape, so straightening your back a bit should not cause you to lose protraction. It may be harder to do, at first, because you aren't used to it, so ease in as slowly as necessary. 

 

If you look at Allan in the video, he is protracted but does not have a huge hollow. It does look different. He could probably be a little more protracted, but when you aren't in a huge hollow you will not look as protracted as you will during the floor-based lean.
