What's everyone's opinion on a thick rope vs a braided thin rope?

 

I'm looking for something I can tie to a tree and leave outside in all weather...

 

 

I'm gonna make a purchase of one pretty soon, from what I recall, 1.5in thickness is what's desired to GST. 

 

just get something that won't fray and make rope climbing a bummer after it's been weathered and used?

Probably the lowest price you'll find anywhere, so, if it gets ruined, it's not so expensive to replace. They also sell clamps or splices that you can place in your order.
