Ring Handstand Shoulder Stabalization

Ive started to seriously work more on the freebalancing ring handstand with good form.

My trouble is that my left should which has in the past had frequent subluxations feels slightly unstable when I extend my shoulders and turn the rings out while in straight handstand line.  My floor handstand does not have this problem.

Does anyone know of some exercises that might help with this.  Currently I am doing band work similar to what we saw at the seminar and have started lifting a dumbell and rotating it while extending over my head. Ive was also thinking that angling the parallettes and doing shrugs in a handstand might help.

If anyone has any input on this please let me know.

consider that every work fro external rotator cuff is good. these muscle stabilize the the arm in the capsule everytime you are working on overhead movement. the fact that you feel it unstable is due to the exernal rotation on the rings that for it's nature eliminate the internal rotation from the stabilization.

one of the important muscle of the cuff that usually is involved in the rehab of the big problems of the subluxation, dislocation, SLAP tear and more is the subscapularis. it's work paired with supraspinatus, infraspinatus e teres minor contribute to the shoulder health..

so you can work of course with external rotation, BUT your internal rotation in rotator cuff must be strong.you can do 2 types of internal rotation:

-http://www.bodymed.ca/new/wp-content/uploads/shoulder-internal-rotation.jpg. this is the second type on internal rotation

the last one exercises i propose to you it's new also for me. it showed to me Morandi.

the idea is start in the position of the photo and grab with elevated hand a resistance that comes from the left side. now you have to draw a circle moving the hand up-right-down-left (in the starting position). try to maintain the hand always in contact with the body. you have to feel some friction between body and hand.

last week i was talking to my physioterapist about the exercise for the rotator cuff muscles in order to maintain the shoulder healthy. for sure use the same amount of resistance while your effort is increasing is not the best way. treat the rotator cuff muscles as all the other muscles. for example i'm currently using about 14 kg for each arm in the cuban press.
