this is the video of the last training day..

i'm showing a slow muscle up. sincerely i'm doing them only on the bar..using some over weight and doing a slow controlled transition. i find them more useful then on the rings..

for the RC was the first time that i tried this rope, is a little bit large then mine but there is not a big difference. my record today was 2 ascents and half in a row using the form in the video. my forearms were burning!! i love RC

Very nice, Alex! Can you also do a wide no lean MU like Aguilar Andreas?

Alessandro Mainente

with a very minimum lean in the forward. so it's like him ay 90%!

coupling wide grip mu on the bar and IC pulls the aguilars's muscle up is easier. I spent to much time trying to develop it using only the rings...but the bar was the solution

Alex, I am just curious. Can you do the 5 x 60 sec RC PE6? While grinding your teeth or while singing one of those beautiful Italian love songs? :)

Oh, so you found that working wide MUs on a bar is actually better then working them on rings to get the no lean wide MU on rings? That's interesting!

Alessandro Mainente

aahahaha FritsMB probably yes!! but unfortunately is not a love song!!!

the only way to emulate the Aguilar version is reduce the lean. using the L position is good in order to do that. but on rings is found that even if I force myself not to do it there is always a little degree of lean with wide grip especially during the upper part of the transition, and this is due to rings nature. work on the bar poses an obstacle to the degree of leaning and that is what i'm searching for!

Also Coach believes that rings are useful cause they are comfortable for the learning process, but not necessary if you can use a bar!

the leaning is a great shortcut, i remember that i did a mu with 16 kg on the rings before being able to complete 5 controlled mu on the bar...
