i took it in the gym of my friend in Torino.

I noticed that as i get more familiar with some not usual iM of the HS1 i can make my upper/medial back more rounded then before.

just to know in the perfect handstand the upper/medial back must be rounded or completely flat?

i noticed also that in different athletes of the H1. For example in the pbars HS/SE9 there is a great rounded back. on the other hands in the 2 minutes hold the rounded back is less.

so assuming that is possible to control the degree of the rounding, is better maintain flat back or rounded back?

thanks

I don't have the clinical gymnastics eye yet to evaluate these things, but is it possible that the round back appearance is merely how a natural muscular back looks in a HS position. To be honest neither does your picture nor HS/SE9 appear to be rounded back for me.

In any case, I think the criteria is shoulders over hands, hips over shoulders, feet over hips as straight as possible, the position of the spine seems to be a natural consequence of this criteria.

i ask that for a reason. if i concentrate on elevate my shoulders pushing me away form the floor my back looks flat BUT if i try to activate the serratus anteriore in order to make my body hollow the result is a curved back more then the no serratus anterior activation.

Of course learn to active the serratus anterior in handstand position is very difficult cause the sensation of activation decrease as you reach the vertical line on free handstand...

if you search on balance section you can see my past handstand and you can notice the difference between rounded or flat expecially if you look the post where i'm showing the wall hs

btw thank for your opinion
