Courses Development Queue

This is a rough sketch of the course development I have planned. We have great content, so I'm working to make it shine. Even if a competitor tries a course imitation, customers will quickly find it feels empty in comparison to everything we will eventually offer.

1.1 Workout Scheduler

1.2 Social Achievement System (ties into OLC services as an interim step + community interaction)

1.3 Notes/Highlight System

1.4 Personal Workout Log + Tie-in to Achievement System

1.5 Mobile App integration

Please list any additional items I should consider. These are not set in stone by any means. All of this would also be directly in the course or hybrid with the forum (social achievements).

1.2 Social Achievement System Details:

Two types of achievements

-Progress achievements are awarded automatically  for working through the course. These are triggered once milestones are hit with their progress in the workout scheduler. This is more of a background item to accumulate some points.

-Event achievements award more points, but also are more difficult and have creative applications of the course training. There will often be components of specific skill training required to get this. My intent is to have these be fun, tough, and interesting enough to spark discussion. This is in essence the replacement to the social aspect of workout logs. Instead of critiquing workouts, members now discuss and help each other with how to master certain challenge achievements. As one progresses through the course and series, these will become very intense and challenging.

Point "Currency"

-Achievements earn points that can be used as currency. These points are spent rather than cumulative.

-Rewards start simple with titles, badges, visual fluff, potentially unlock able design patterns (e.g. GB bumper sticker)

-The most desirable rewards will be those icons that show up on their achievement bar. These cost the most but have the greatest amount of recognition. The achievement bar shows up right under a post but above the signature.

Social Aspect & Challenge Mode

-The entire achievement system relies completely on social honor. My aim is to take this and turn it into an advantage. Everyone knows you will simply be able to click a box to mark and achievement, so I am adding some social checks to this.

-There will be an achievement forum (or sub forum) where these can be discussed, members can ask for help in getting the harder ones, etc.

-Members have the option to challenge someone they think BS'd an achievement. This is a wager of a portion of their points to challenge someone to prove they can do the achievement. The challenged can either choose "I Admit BS" and forfeit points to the challenger or accept the challenge. If they prove it they keep the wagered points and the challenger loses them. If this becomes to cutthroat or abused we can set time limitations on challenges.

King of the Forum Integration

-Being King of the Forum will reward an achievement icon stating they were once King. There may be achievements for holding the title for so many challenges, etc.

-After certain achievements or a set amount of points, an individual can raise a "community challenge" to the current King. This would not be easy to initiate from a cost perspective and is an all-or-nothing wager. The person initiating it chooses the challenge and members are able to vote it as a good challenge or not. If it passes, it becomes a full-blown challenge and it's anyone's game. If the challenger is able to beat the King, they get the most coveted prize/achievement possible ("Beheading the King"). So they not only have to beat the King but all other forum members.

Tie in to Level Testing

-If earning some achievements gives a bit of glitter, earning a level will be full-on disco ball. We're going to make sure everyone knows about the person who walks the walk instead of just talking it up. Levels will be such as they not only trump achievements in a social standpoint, but also reward a substantial amount of points.

Logistics

-The best part is that a lot of the framework is already in place from a technical standpoint. :) It'll still be a large project, but not one starting from scratch.
