Questions on Deload Week

i have two questions regarding about the deload week

1) can you follow a deload week with another deload week?

2) can you rest in the week after the deload week before advancing?

thanks in advance

Yes, but more important is "why would you do that?"

If you need the additional rest, it is likely that you are trying to advance too fast, or trying to do too much. If it is the case, maybe the best line of action is to revisit your training schedule and make adjustments.

If it is because "life got in the way" and for some reasons you cannot (or don't want to) resume training at once, then so be it, try to keep your CNS stimulated during the second deload week, and resume training progressions the week after.

You'll need to tell us more for better advice :)

okay, got it. thanks =D

i just remembered coach saying that if you need to rest, you should listen to your body

sorry for not stating the reason. xD

its actually for my older brother who is too fatigued during deload week because of work and other activities (dance, rehearsals, etc..)

Coach Sommer

As has already been mentioned, if your brother is too fatigued during deload week to train:

- He is attempting progressions and/or programming which are too difficult for his current strength level.

- In which case the only way he managed to make it to the deload week is that his form must be rather poor

- Or he is attempting to train more days per week than his recovery ability can handle.
