Seminar Description

I just received emails from both Jeff Serven and Andrew at CF London asking for better descriptions of the seminar.

Looking at what we have on the store, I can see how the abbreviations might seem a bit dense.

Would fleshing out the curriculum be a good idea, or would it make the page too info heavy?

edit: I have begun writing up some new text that can be added to our web store's description as well as being sent out to hosts for their promotion

It can be found on the third post down. Below that is a poster design, which Nic has very harshly critiqued. ;)

Cole Dano

Do we happen to have the 'old' seminar description anywhere? I could use this as a basis to write up a description to send out to our seminar hosts. It does seem they need a more detailed description of the curriculum.

In the meantime, I will gum something together so we can get Jeff and Andrew rolling.

Cole Dano

Here is something I whipped up today and will send out to Jeff and Andrew

Feel free to comment and refine.

Gymnastic Bodies Two Day Seminars

Study the Foundations of Gymnastic Strength Training™ (GST) with a True Expert

The worldwide GB Seminars are designed expressly for Crossfitters, Gymnasts, MMA, Olympic Lifters, Rock Climbers, Parkour, Free Running, Yoga and Fitness Enthusiasts to learn Gymnastic Strength Training™ in a safe, professional, hands-on environment. Anyone who is committed to increasing their bodyweight strength mastery, mobility and quality of movement should make attending a definite priority.

Covering:

Fundamental Straight Arm Strength (FSAS)

Fundamental Bent Arm Strength (FBAS)

Fundamental Leg Strength (FLS)

Handstand (HS)

Rings (XR)

Details:

A hallmark of GST is it's progressive approach. Coach Christopher Sommer is known within the gymnastic community as a true innovator in applying this method to strength training.

His system will take you step by step from the most basic to the most impressive feats of strength. A system that not only takes the need for muscular strength into account, but also the need of a full and active range of motion. You will learn not only how to train for strength but also how to incorporate mobility drills from his series known as Liquid Steel™.

Each of the main categories of GST contain dozens if not hundreds of exercises and mobility drills. Coach Sommer will help you make sense of it all.

For example FSAS will show you progressions starting from the easiest core exercise to a full Front Lever, Side Lever, Planche and the rarely seen Manna.

FBAS will develop from simple body weight exercises to No Leg Rope Climbs and Hollow back press to HS.

If you are at all interested in bodyweight strength, attending this seminar can help save you years of frustrated effort.

Here is the poster I'm sending to Jeff at Trident. Have also made a Europeans size template with the correct info for CFLondon.

Will also provide them a GB logo, and images for use on their web promotions.

Like the poster. Nice work.

Do we like saying any level of ability or do we want to say any skill level?

Actually I wrote that initially, but then didn't want it to be confused with gymnastic skills, so made that change. I can go back.

Just thinking marketing aspect, especially with some finicky US people.

Nic Branson

Or could say Experience Level, level of experience something along those lines possibly

Cole Dano

- add reference to Foundations and that F1 H1 are required (this can just be in the web-store, not the host promo)

- add Seminar F1/H1 bundle to store

Cory can we collaborate on this?

- Poster Text

Level of Ability > Experience Level (due to finicky US people)

Are we discounting it or simply putting all the items together?

Cole Dano

Putting all the items together was where we were last.

I can work on how to present the info while trying to keep it simple.

I'm wondering how it will look in the store, if we can keep the bundle as an option or if it has to be a separate product etc....

Ultimately the main goal is to not make buying the Courses on top of the seminar become an obstacle to buying either.

Cory Fair

London Bundle Link: https://zp130.infusionsoft.com/app/manageCart/processBundle?productId=2&productQuantity=1&productId=18&productQuantity=1&productId=26&productQuantity=1&styleThemeId=118

Washington Bundle Link: https://zp130.infusionsoft.com/app/manageCart/processBundle?productId=2&productQuantity=1&productId=18&productQuantity=1&productId=28&productQuantity=1&styleThemeId=118

If they buy in the store directly, it's not likely necessary to make an explicit bundle as they'll already receive a follow up email reminding them of seminar details and required materials. We can use the above links for any advertising, email campaigns, registration links, etc.

Cole Dano

So I would just add that link to the Product page?

Cory Fair

That's for marketing emails and such.

It says on the product, at checkout, and in their follow-up registration email that they need F1 and H1 so there isn't much point to adding an explicit bundle in the store.

Cole Dano

Don't you think we should mention needing the Courses in the product description? Seems a bit sneaky to tell them after the fact.

Nic Branson

The customer should know, I agree on that. People gripe over the smallest things.

Cory Fair

It is: right under the price.

Nic Branson

Hmm not seeing it on the seminar page itself.

Edit. Ok I see it on the others but not the Scottsdale one.

You just snuck that up on us. Maybe Scottsdale needs the same.

I still don't think an in store bundle would be a bad idea. It different to see

$709

than

$539

and then go look to see another $95 and then another $75

It bites more that way IMO.

Still maybe it's not practically an option.

Cole Dano

And back to the original topic -

Does anyone object to the text I posted being added to the product description? (and appropriately adjusted for the 3-day seminar)

Cole Dano

Made small change to the Required Materials text -

Course Text: Foundation One, Handstand One

(Please purchase separately)

Nic Branson

Sounds good.
