How to train for russian dips?

At the bottom of a dip if I tried to lower my elbows just a little bit I would lose the support position. I feel no stress in my shoulders or sternum but there is a substantial amount of stress in the right elbow. My question is how to build the strength for russian dips? It seems to me that simply doing more regular dips won't help much in this case.

Work them slowly. It's not a move you can get overnight. Unless you're a monster!
