does mobility end to static stretching?

my question i simply and regards the movement of RC iM 5.

the found 1 course said "..to lengthen the lats into this stretch..".

by my university knowledge and many NCBI resources seems that use static stretching movement before a strength set lets to a loss of strength during the following exercises.

the research i've ridden said that for a stretch session of 30 seconds the improvement of elongation ends after 3-4 minutes after the stretch. so i think that, if a set is performed after a reasonable amount of time , there is no problem (in theory).

but if the recovery time between stretch and next strength set is less, does the mobility end to static stretching and decrease the performance in the next set?

I've not felt any decrease in strength all I feel I like I have a greater range of motion and less tight. Then again the pulls are very easy

thanks to share your experience..

maybe this is just what you felt but your personal experience does not answer to my question..

i had the opportunity to see and work (for a couple of lessons) in a research laboratory of physiology here in Verona around the electromyography study, and see how after a adequate stretch the electric activity produced by skeletal muscles (in terms of electrical potential) decrease in percentage during the following contraction..

so i think that my question is not something strange..i'm searching for some clarifications cause from one side the personal research i did on my stage lets me to think in a particular way, on the other hand the experience of coach lets to me to achieve impressive results since i've started!

i can affirm that some years ago i did stretching between strength sets and i didn't feel reasonable strength loss (reasonable means that is not possible complete the following set)...

so what is the dominant side? rely on personal experience or on research?

Just speculating...

It might decrease performance but the goal may be to develop the ability to perform the movement in a fatigued/stretched state.  Later on strength will have to be performed after false grip hangs etc. so I would guess it is part of building the foundation for that work.

I'm also interested as this was something that had occurred to me as well.

I think this is getting overthought, on a practical level, but I like the attention to detail :)

The PE work is honestly so easy that the effect from the stretch will have a minimal impact, and after a while you will have a hard time getting the same stretch, which also means you'll be inhibiting yourself less.

The small disadvantage that may occur from some of the static stretches in the beginning will absolutely be offset by the increased mobility in the long term, which in turn will probably remove the intense stretch stimulus that leads to the temporary maximal strength reduction.

If you notice, a lot of the static holds turn into dynamic entries and exits to and from stretched positions. This completely removes the "problem."

You could do 10s L arm, 10s R arm, repeat 3x if you're really worries about it, but in practical terms I just don't think it's going to make the slightest bit of difference.

The point of my post was to show that if you aren't noticing a difference then why overthink it? Coach knows what he is doing so when it comes to something at this level save your self some time and worry and do the prescribed exercises.

thanks for clarification Joshua!

no one here is saying that coach put  in the found 1 something that can be dangerous.

..."that if you aren't noticing a difference then why overthink it" in some case is a limited form of thought. in the gym i did 7 years squatting heavy weight with my knee over my feet and the knee collapsed inside, then i've never suffered from injuries, so this technique is correct? if i do leg extension with torn acl i can increase my knee instability over other joint section, but i did it for 6 months without feel pain or increase the damage due to the sliding forward of the fibula, I was lucky...sometime i think that if you do something that for your knowledge sounds strange, ask for a clarification is not stupid! i don't have the experience of the coach for sure, but in 2 years of personal training in bodybuilding context, the details make the difference!

and is for those details that me, you and the other members appreciate the work of the Coach!

why limit the possibility to know if someone can solve your doubts?

if one day you will have the possibility to assist at one certification on RKC see what's happen when Pavel say "anyone has questions?! "...if no one asks for an explanation  all the participants have to stay in plank until someone asks for clarification..

One thing to keep in mind with the stretching limiting strength work is also that the loss is mostly from power not strength and it is primarily after holding a long stretch not a 30sec hold. The strength application in this context is not limited due to mobility work.

Alessandro Mainente

ok Nic now the point is clear
