Levels And Certification

level testing = demonstrating physical proficiency

certification = demonstrating physical proficiency at that particular level, written examination of GB methodology, progressions and programming and acting as an assistant instructor at a set number of GB seminars or workshops (3 or 4?  too many?).  Receiving passing marks on all of the above would be required to receive Certification for that particular Level.

Thoughts?

- I believe that the majority of the Graduate Studies section should be no additional fee beyond the purchase of that particular product.

- Like yourself, not quite clear yet on testing specifics.  Perhaps a subscrition fee to cover the cost of coaching interaction in addition to a testing fee?

The certication forum is great for those certified to discuss teaching issues etc.

Do we have a vision on how wide spread we want the certifcation. Too much and we risk losing some quality, not an option IMO. Or is it more tiered as passing each level naturally limites how many instructors are out there. More level 1 then 2 etc.

I'm not sure 3-4 is too many. These are people teaching your system, representing you. So you need to be comfortable. It could be a level 1 instructor needs 2 seminars and above that is invite only for awhile for example. Or the 3rd and 4th seminar is what opens up the other levels. I'm not sure just tossing ideas out right now so we think on stuff.

Now we have room for professional, and enthusiast, very very good!

It also opens the door to future professional level courses and education.

How about we keep Professional Certification on an invitation only bases? At least for the present.

We can still publicly announce the basic req'ts but add - plus invitation from Coach Sommer?

Seminar attendance required. State your desire to the Coaching staff. Gives a name to follow on their testing progression and such to see if you want to bring them onboard later? I dunno. Have to balance growth with demand and quality control.

- I believe that the increasing difficulty of the levels will naturally limit the number of potential certifications at each level.

- In addition, the required attendance and instruction at multiple seminars should separate the truly serious from the rest of the herd.

- I like the "plus invitation by Coach Sommer"

Exactly my thoughts there Coach as mentioned earlier you'll get more Level 1 (fitness club type) coaches and it will dwindle down from there. I would think invite only for those assisting or teaching at seminars though personally. One so you have the staff you need there and not too many of one level.

Coach Sommer

To more clearly specify; certification would first require attending two seminars as a student and then performing as an assistant instructor for ??? seminars.

This is where it could get tricky with regards to a F1 Coach. That level might need one seminar then one as an assistant if you thought they were up to par.

For pure quality two seminars then an invite back as an assistant for X is clearly better. Just becomes an expense issue. I know for myself I am having to get help to travel to both seminars this year after the last one. Everyones situation is different in that regard though.
