Graduate Studies / Seminar / Level Ranking Integration

These are some sticking points on Graduate Studies and Level Ranking I have in my head and some ideas about them.

Graduate Studies Forum ?

- Now that we have expanded into Courses etc, the name is no longer appropriate

  • How about something along the lines of
  1. - - Course Studies

- I can't see having the Advanced Seminar Studies forum work as a subscription

  • Open it up with Seminar attendance, set time frame, but no renewal
  • It's relevance now is to cover Course topics that do not as of yet have a Course released
  • For topics that have released Courses - direct discussion there - entry dependant on purchase of Course
  1. - - They should have purchased the relevant Course Level prior to attending
  • As all courses are released, eventually the Adv. Seminar forum will fade away

Integration of non- certification Level Testing with Seminars ?

  • Getting people in the right Level in the seminars is going to be critical to their success
  • Time currently spent explaining the program will be saved in future seminars now that the Foundation Course is released
  • Coach is separating groups by 'testing' them now anyway
  • Let that test count toward GB non-certified Levels so then Trainees have two avenues of ranking
  • These tests would be an integral part of the seminar, and would be no extra charge, adding a great deal of value and incentive to return to future seminars

Require Official non-certified Rank to determine starting place in seminar ?

  • If trainee has not got a rank they start at Lv1 PE1
  • They can test up 'on the spot' and be given that new ranking status on the forum and know where to start next time

Allow Staggered Ranking ?

  • Invariably there will be one Foundation element higher or lower than another
  • True ranking would be based on all 7 elements
  • Staggered Ranking would keep track of were individual elements are. This is what they are really doing at home,
  • Staggered Ranking is only done at seminars, Online Ranking is True Ranking only
  1. - - Let's them fit in at the right place in seminars / not artificially held back
  2. - - Allows for individual rank in seminars that don't cover all 7 elements (I've heard that happens  ;) )
  3. - - Allows for half day seminars to fit into this scheme as well.

I do think staggered for seminars is a must for attendees to get the most out of it. At the start of each section maybe we have a short testing period so people can get themselves into the proper group and also is shows what we expect.

Interesting forum thoughts. I'm not sure on the seminar one but other than that I like it.

The forums, they be a busy.

My thought on the seminar forums would be where do we set a cut off? If we do 12months then say a person has been keeping up in the forum and participating to keep up from their seminar but they cannot make it back directly the next year. We would be cutting them off. It could be minimal like 10-15 to get a one year renewal to tide people over between seminars. This does ofcourse assume that there would be material from them that did not fit in an appropriate level forum.

Sure, I was thinking that too, of course there doesn't have to be a time limit at all. I'm not sure a time limit on any of the forums is a good idea. Or it should be set quite liberally, 18-24 months for seminar and same for each level purchased. I think a minimal renewal fee could work.

The other thing there is, if we do move all course material out of the Seminar Forum it's almost not worth worrying about anyway.

I suppose the first question to answer is will the Course Forums be open indefinitely to someone buying a course?

I would think they should be.

Then maybe Seminar Forum should follow suit?

Would make sense, only concern would be if there is a continuance of new material at each seminar. At some point we want to get people to come back not just ask in the forum what's new...

True, but if I understand correctly that won't be an issue at least not before all the Courses coach mentioned are out.

We could put a time limit, and then at our discretion, give members a 'bonus' free membership. Then when and if it's time to really start to charge it wouldn't be a surprise.

That would also give a reason to send an email out to members who's time is expiring. Just to tell them we are 'giving' them more time.

Oh I like that.

Yeah based on current plans is not an issue for awhile.

I suppose that would also work for the Course Forums if there is any doubt wether to keep them open indefinitely or not.

It could yeah. We do have time to figure it out here, just don't want it to slip through with other projects being figured out also.

So many projects!

At first I was thinking we have time too. But the problem with making people pay for something they thought was free is it makes them upset.

My concern is IF anything is going to be subscription, the longer we wait to announce it the worse the reaction will be.

True. I would think that the price of each module should include on-line support (the forums) as part of purchase with no renewal fee. We are offering general support of the product, not individualized as that is the realm and purpose of on-line coaching. So yeah no fee.
