Congrats! Is that a D? I only could find back kip to invert cross. No It WAS an E (straight body E, piked D).

Thanks!

Every swing to strength element wich goes trough iron cross is now with new code of points forbiden, except iron cross! So no Honma to swallow (in my personal opinion the most beautiful element in rings) or inverted, no Tampokos1 and 2, no kip to swallow or inverted,.....Strength to strength is excluded from this rule. And there is no combinations

I'm doing it for strength to strength element  swallow 2s press to inverted 2s

Therefore gymnast with less strength and more swing tehnic will have more chance

Congratulations! :D By the way do you have a video of you from world cup? would be interesting to see :D

No, nothing, but there is somewhere a video from nationals (rutine was even better then in Moscow except a dismount).

I hope I will get in the team for Montreal (world cup) ...I have rivals on other aparatus for team

Thanks coach! I was quite supprised at my achievement.

Today I had kind of "muscle feeling training." More presses to japannese handstand, more pully system, and so on, just to feel muscle and for feeling not to much. Day after tommorow I will add one more kg to belt.

I have strenght training( all training) only on monday and friday.

Today I will not write whole training, just feelings and improvements.

Today's training:

1.japannese-maltese on the rail  better strength

2.all 3 kips to inverted without assistance  I holded twice (litlle bent arms)

3. combination without belt (azarian press to maltese/back swing to maltese-nakayama) easier then expected :o

4.second training with 3 kg-belt (previous was 2kg) adaptation to weight increase is already better and combination azarian press to maltese/back swing to maltese-nakayama was in whole section for 0,1 deduction (in back swing).

Re: Interesting article on training to failure

Now I'm thinking  nex week I'll start with a competitive rutines but I want to gain a litlle more strenght.

1.I will do 2 rutines (wich are half just strenght elements)

2.less strenght training but with aded load on exercise (more kg on a west)

3.and evry half mesocycle I'll do a training after rutines without competitive combinations just raw elements for 5-6 seconds with load 3 or 4 kg.

4.Streght trainings:

 monday and friday

ednurance/stamina trainings:

 tuesday, thursday

feeling training:

 wednsday:more pully (easy) HSs, jappanese HS, lower back training

I don't want to seperate rutines and strenght training beacuse i'm to tired next day to do eather of them an my CNS is not ready.

We with coach decided to work on routines on thursday (one routine per week for begining), and after routine, stamina.

It's defenitly better to do routine before, then after strength training so Thursday is a routine and stamina training and Friday strength training (also on Monday).

I thougth about:

1. week  1 routine

2. week  2 routines

3. week  2 routines

4. week  3 rotuines

5. week  3 routines

6. week  deload on 2 routines (we'll see if I will be in A-team for world cup....)

I didn't discuss this with my coach yet, but I will tommorow...

In this weel I wan't to do all stregth trainings and with final week only a routine and just one repetition of singel element of strength for feeling...

Today I ran 1h for the third time after a new year. I gained 2kg after nationals, when I had 69kg on 168 cm of height (ripped as never before), due to litlle "loose" diet.

Comments always welcome :mrgreen:I really like to think for myself before consoulting to everyone, that don't mean that I'm my own coach if that looks like

It's always cool to see your training, Gregor. It must be great to have that kind of strength!

"A-team for world cup" I still don't know much about gymnastics, but that sounds fancy, are you possibly going to be in the olympics someday?

Order of importance (for competitions) for European gymnasts:

1. Olympic games

2. World Championship

3. European Championship

4. World cup/Mediterannean games/Universe games (for gymnast in universes-school)

5. National Championship

6. National Cup

For specialists is hard to go on Olympics (you must be one of the medalist on one apparatus in World championship and you must compeet on three aparatus).

For me is World Championship better, because there is a better competition then in Olympics  it's a fact.

We will see, where I will end:injurys, strong competition inside TEAM...I hope for as many World cups as possible, then will time show how far I will go...

So with new code I had to change it and A score will be litlle lower because of it.

azarian, press to maltese, back swing to maltese, nakayama, giant swing forward, jonnaosn, giant swing backward, double streched with full turn.

I had more strength elements, but now I can't have more then for ina row (new code).I'll add after jonnason giant swing to inverted cross (when I'll have more stamina). For dismount double streched with two full turns???we will see if wont be to risky (for mistakes).

So yea I'm not happy with new code of points....And I need alot of good and hard work.

Today's snow running :D It's a pure magic, running in the forest with the snowflakes dropping and listening Bruce Springsteen.

It's a good way to relax before Monday's training and to make some training visualizations

Azarian press to inverted  is that even hard  :lol::lol:

Today I made two consistant attempts (azarian press to inverted) with 2 or 4 second inverted cross hold. First tranzition was so explosive, that looked like it was nothing

It was very very good training today:

1. two rouitnes

2. two azarian presses to inverted

3. rouitne combinations,...

4. maltese with 10 second hold and added 3kg load on a waist

to bad I didn't filmed it

Azarian press to inverted

to bad I didn't filmed it

I couldn’t even find that on youtube (however I didnt really look that hard just a quick search). Be sure to film it next time! In my opinion a slow deliberate Azarian to anything is the most graceful and impressive skill on rings. Especially if it’s used as a mount . . . dead hang  pull to inverted hang and keep it going around to a cross!

Its one of my must have goals but I have a long way to go!

Any tips for training the Azarian? I was thinking just try to get an Azarian to a support would be a good starting point.

from 35s to 40 second time frame...But instead salto to cross (honma to cross), you must go from azarian,...

It's not that harder from dead hang and pull, it's all about the tranziton from cross. So when you can do from cross to inverted, it's the same if you are doing it from kip to cross, nakayama, azarian, honma, dead pull to cross,..

Spotter (yes, I know I'm annoying with "spotting thing" , but simply it's the best and most effective training part for rings) You can do it with elastic band to,...

Where excatly you are with crosses? azarian is alot harder to learn (from strength and tehnic-moment pressing) then normal cross.

How strong do you think one has to be to do Azarian? Do you think they have to be able to do Cross pullouts easily or maltese to cross? Or something like Back lever to cross ( Pineda or Nakayama)?

Richard Duelley

Sadly I just started my cross training again and I am still hesitant to start seriously training crosses again due to a shoulder injury I just got finished with last month. I feel like I need to finish this steady state cycle, I have 4-5 weeks left, before I start working crosses hard again. In preparation I have lots of cross prep movements, like bulgarian ring dips for example, and several multi plane press and pull movements to help get my shoulder girdle as ready as possible. I can do a nice cross with my arms through the straps of my rings but its still difficult for me to pull out if I go ALL the way to horizontal. If I keep my cross slightly above horizontal the pull out is medium in effort, its amazing to me how much harder the cross is when I lower that last 2 degrees before horizontal. Having a 6 foot 4 inch arm span is not helping me either.

So just from reading your last post I will stick with cross training for a while and just keep the Azarian in the back of my mind to keep me motivated.

I have access to a ring pulley machine as well.

In response to Blairbob,

I would like to know this as well. And I have seen people do the Azarian to support but they really whip it around fast.

Like in this video

Thanks,

Ricky
