I am not sure it makes sense to compare pure protein with protein mixed with carbs... :?:

What are you trying to discover?

Protein is protein. From what I've heard, studies show whole milk is at least equal if not better than protein powders.

I've said it before and I'll say it again :D I've never encountered better protein powders than the types that TrueNutrition make. I also like its website and buying options. Whey concentrate is super inexpensive there and whey isolate isn't too much more. I've been buying from them for around a year now if I remember correctly, and I've never had a problem.

I have never really enjoyed taking protien powder, nor have i ever really seen a point. I am no nutritionist, but every single time i drank it in the morning as breakfast (like i was told i was supposed to) it alway made me vomit. If i took it later, or ixed it with food, it jsut made me queasy. Now i just prefer my eggs, or milk or meat to get my protien

yeah , i know the feeling,

it happened to me when i took chocolate powder,

usually i don't like and don't eat chocolate at all,, but somehow i thought that in protein powder it will taste better,

i was so wrong,

anyway, now i'm looking for a great vanilla taste,

to mix with milk and berries

after workout(up to 1 hour from workout), it's also 1 hour before i go to sleep

from what i saw people gained 7-12 pounds in a year with it usually

I'm not a fan of ON at all. I want protein not every additive they can find. Search "new zealand whey" on amazon. Grass fed whey protein. No funky additives.

Your gains won't come from a jar of protein powder dude! You need to eat more, eat more frequently, and just get a quality product. Stop worrying about every detail. You, and most other gymnasts, are so small that you guys are going to hit 2g/kg of protein without breaking a sweat, getting protein from ANY reputable company will be fine. You need to be using Nutri-timing to help you figure out how often you need to eat and how much to eat each time. You will be surprised at what your training sessions look like on the graphs.

You are trying to make up for lack of proper food planning with money and dried milk. It doesn't work like that.

If you want to pay more money for carbs, get one of the gainers. If you want to do things as cheaply as you can, eat white rice and have your whey protein shake.

Before you do anything else, read my nutrition thread about workout nutrition. It is a sticky. That should be your starting point.

Im already eating 4-6 meals of usually

Lean meats and fish or eggs white with fruits or vegetables

and sometimes whole wheat brown bread

less frequent but once in a while hummus / thini

Or milk

that

And after workout stuff like pasta, sushi

Potatos, lean meats,orange juice...

Usually dring water / green tea

the powder is in addition to that

i'm not expecting it to do all the work

i'm not trying to save money, i'm trying to find the most effective one for me

Buy a quality whey concentrate with no chemical processing. Don't be fooled by the over the top marketing, you don't need the extras. It's mostly hype and none of it is scientifically shown to actually work. Whey and maltodextrin together is enough.

Essentially what Josh said above is the real deal, but there's nothing wrong with supplementing appropriately between meals and especially pre -during -post workout.

Trust me on this: Go to nutritiming, if you have a smart phone get the app for 5 bucks. If you don't, get an advantage account and cancel it in 3-4 weeks.

Use the program and put in all your foods and activities. I think you are going to be very, very surprised at what you see... Nearly everyone is. Until you can see where you are not getting what you need none of this thread matters, honestly.

Supplements aside from imo a good multi and EFA's are the last 1%. Get the rest figured out then use them to augment what you need where you need it.

Thanks, the nutritiming looks good, but it's 7$

I've got ON Serious Mass and the perfect 3000

They supposed to be the best gainers

I'll compare them and see which one is better

I've heard that i shouldn't take too much calories more then i can handle

It will turn into fat

Also i head that i should divide the scoop to

2-3 and eat one in the morning , one between meals afternoon

And one after workout

For better digestion, this way it's 25-30 g protein per serving,

so it won't oveload the liver/kidney or something like that

What do you recommend to do?

You seem more concerned and determined to get supplements then to learn about proper nutrition and timing to fine tune what you are already doing now. I'm sorry if this is not the case but that is how it is coming across. Until you step back and make sure the rest is in line forget the supplements. The tools have been given, nothing more we can help you with...

There is a serious contradiction here, you are balking at paying a few dollars for nutritiming and yet want to buy the most overpriced over hyped protein products on the market.

Save your protein powder money, and do some read Josh's thread on basic nutrition! Get your priorities straight, then use your money in the smartest way possible. With protein it will never be the fancy brand, there are some great bulk dealers out there, get the concentrate which is also less expensive. Only do this after you've got your basics down or you are really wasting your money and our time.

thanks i'll do that,

i eat properly , it's just not enough,

i learned this whole year some of the best stuff about nutrition, also read his great articles,

i eat healthy, and feel great after i changed the diet, and i eat now 4-6 meals usually,

but it's still not enough to get more mass

belive me , i've got the basics, i've worked really hard for it

i think maybe it's because i have a high metabolic rate

i did managed to get 4 kilos more in a year

but it's still not fast enough

anyway, i'm wanted to add the protein as last resort

it's not the first thing that came to my mind

you mean that there is no difference between protein concentrate, isolate and hydro?

it's just marketing?

and i should get the cheaper one

also i checked something:

juri chechi 1.65m 60kg 22bmi

chen yibing 1.60m 58kg 22.6bmi

jorden jovtchev 1.64m 62kg 23 bmi

kohei uchimura 1.61m 54kg 20.8bmi

philipp boy 1.72m 67kg 22.6bmi

marcel nguyen 1.65m 54kg 19.8bmi

yuri van gelder 1.61m 63kg 24.3bmi

i think i should try to get to bmi 22.15(avg of above)

60kg will be too much for me

this means i should get 8kg more of lean mass,(or gain 2kg-13kg), not 14kg+

so i'm now at 46kg and in 2 years i want to get to 54kg while staying with the same bf%

thanks!

i appriciate your help

that's like 40 at our currency

but i'll give it a try, it looks good

I guarantee you it is the best investment you can make. Seriously. There is nothing more valuable than being able to look at a picture of your day and then seeing exactly where you can make improvements... you will be 100% blown away by the improvements you see if you manage to actually fix the problems that show up.
