Marcelo Rodrigues
It don't realy looks like the problem is concentration to me, try doing it with someone marking the time you remain on the handstand. It's a good idea to set a time goal ( say, one minute since you have been keeping the handstand untill 45 secs.); as the person marking time to keep you updated every 15 secs, so you dont get anxious; if you dont get to pass 45 secs. then the problem is endurance and you should try working on a coulple of sets of 30 secs before atempting to pass 45 secs. griffdrc
when i do them i start the stop watch and set it on the ground... i kick up and use my zero as what ever the time reads when i'm set and count til i start to fall... i can pass 45 seconds if i walk my hands some but not by a lot...but i don't know... its like i hit the sweet spot... and after 20-30 seconds there my body goes numb... not literally but i lose awareness of where my legs are... almost like i'm floating... i drift a little and start to under or over compensate... i have my best holds when i'm a little tired... i thought it was because i concentrated more... Tom Weksler
Concentration is definitely not a minor problem as far as handstands and I don't think that you ever get to a point when you are content with your abillity to concetrate. I know alot of equillibrists practice Yoga and meditate quite often and close to their training sessions. An easier solution would be thinking of something specific like your breath, or the tightness of your core and butt, your shoulder angle etc. and concentrating only on it throughout the whole set.Another tip I have for you is never to let yourself "fall" off a handstand and always go down with control even for the price of shortening your sets.
