rubadub
I have never got used to the false grip, though I never tried for long  . I once used a small towel to wrap them, but today I wrapped knee wraps around them, the sort weightlifters use. This was much better, I find the false grip hard due to lack of strength in the wrist AND the pain of the ring digging into the wrist. So this alleviates the pain by cushioning and dispersing the load, which seems to allow me build up wrist strength much easier. I did not do a normal false grip but more a gooseneck grip. like this (thats from http://www.beastskills.com/tutorials/tutorials/52 )I have tried rows in the past but still had pain and I do not have much room where I workout. I bottom of my rings are at neck height, I do the gooseneck and have knuckles facing each other and then did a slow negative. A few hours later an I was able to pull myself back up, seem to get used to it very quickly. The kneewraps also thicken the wrings, so could be useful if people wanted to try thickbar training, you could wrap a barbell too, they held far better than towels.
