Stretch Series question / "tightening medialis"

Hello I have been doing the all access program for about 16 months and am not seeing any progress in any of the stretch series - front spit / middle split.

I have two questions:

1) I have been doing both the front split and the middle split each week. Should I cut it down to doing either one or the other? 

2) I have read that "50% of flexibility is calming the nerves so you should relax as much as possible" With this being said if my nervous system is holding me back should I really be focusing on "Tensing" the Medialis? I get that you want your legs to be straight, but isn't it possible to have straight legs with out having to flex the quad?

Hi Andrew, i noticed that you have "zero posts", have you ever thought about posting a form check for the exercises of the stretch series? is your pike, for example, harder than before?

Here are a couple of pictures - obviously I am open to corrections, but can you also answer my original questions?

During the last 16 months do you have experienced some improvements or zero improvements? is your pike the same of 16 months ago? and what about shoulder mobility? the same?
