Hey guys, would you say push ups with wide arms are useful for gymnastic strength?

I am referring to the opposite of elbows tucked in. Arms nearly at 90 degrees to the torso.

I understand that we have more control with elbows tucked in but I am curious to the cross over.

thanks a lot,

nick

Hey Nick, i'm used to develòp general chest stretch for future work on rings especially for Maltese or Maltese to planche.

in the last 2 years i had 2 students who reached Maltese to planche and for all of them, a strong chest (due to benchpress) was very useful. so for those who need a bodyweight variation then a wide stance is good.
