Getting started

Just getting started with GST, and it is quite a change from the normal gym routine. I'm curious to see how I progress. A few questions from the courses I have done in my first week -

In the 7-minute warmup, the guy does a squatted seiza. Are his toes bent over or is he on the balls of his feet?

When I do a windmill, my right shoulder makes all sorts of crunching sounds as I twist my arm to face the back. Any advice?

Pike folds are the worst exercise for me. I have VERY limited range of motion. Like VERY limited. Any advice on how to modify the exercise or courses that would help this exercise?

Thanks!

Hi Lawrence,

- on the squatted seiza he is resting on the heels, but it is fine to lean a bit forward and rest more on the arms;

-if the sounds develop into pain probably you need to take it off from the routine and focus on restoring first some range of motion.

The best condition to understand your situation and give suggestions is seeing the exercise where you have deficits performed in your current range of motion.
