When to back off

I'd like to ask whether the same basic principle applies to stretching as well as strength training - I finally figured out how to modify the piriformis stretch from MSS in such a way the I feel the stretch in the right muscles. But now they are very, very sore, and have been for the last couple of days. So should I back off from the MSS series until the soreness is completely gone or should I stick to the 1x per week schedule even if something is still sore?

Thank you

It is better to rest until full recovery.
