mobility exercise for a high step

hello, 

I do alot of climbing and one move that comes in extremely useful is the high step, a good high step allows you to conserve upper body strength by getting your weight onto your feet more easily. is there a mobility exercise anyone can suggest to improve this movement?

HI John  for sure....the side pancake. this allows you to compress the body to the side on one leg.
