Robert Storm1
Hi, I just got a subscription to GB Unlimited/GymFit and I wanted to make sure the programming was set up right on the suggested schedule. The exercises on the suggested Core or Upper Body days were super easy (3x3r inclined pushups for instance) and take less than 10 minutes to complete everything for the day. That's fine, but then the very next day is a very difficult stretch program (45 minutes side/center splits exercises for example). I was wondering if this disparity in difficulty between the days is known and if I ought to just do the stretch/split days as best I can or as long as I can. I don't want to injure myself moving into these much longer/harder days too soon. There are also days like the handstand days which show multiple difficulty levels at once, but I'm not sure how far or how much of it you are supposed to do. Thanks for any answers! Alessandro Mainente
Hi Robert, personally I think that every person has its own problem so for you the stretch protocol has much more intensity simple because is your weak point. for a people who have already achieved splits and bridge probably the intensity is moderate if not low. if you feel ok on the strength element consider them easy and progress further along the progression. I know these work different specific muscles, but I'm not sure how to compare the lower body sections with 3x3r assisted squats vs 3x60r calf raises on the stretch program right after. Regardless what's the best course of action if parts of the longer 45 minute programs are too difficult when you're starting out? As you say for people who have already achieved splits, it's fine, but is this the correct set of exercises if you have not achieved splits or are completely new at attempting them? If they're not, what are? And on the handstand days that shows multiple difficulty levels at once, I'm going to assume I should only be doing the warmup and beginner sections and ignore the intermediate and advanced. Alessandro Mainente
Strengthening program has a different purpose so it is not necessary to compare them. For people who do not have the split the stretch course is still fine because if you access the course library from the top menù, you can access the single stretch course you have owned and see a scaled version of the single exercise. When doing the handstand work probably if you are in the beginning, then the beginner is enough. personally, you should consider using the handstand one course that is more structured. Robert Storm1
After looking through the courses more, I think I'll substitute the "Lower Body Flexibility #1" video in place of the full splits videos. It would be awesome if there was a series related to true beginners and stepping up in difficulty for the stretches though.
Alessandro Mainente
HI Robert, if you have the stretch series, you can access to the library course section from the top right corner in the course page and from the library course, you can access to the full list of the stretch course video and a proposed scaled easier variation. Robert Storm1
Are there supposed to be other videos than the 3 in the stretch series?
Alessandro Mainente
Yes. course library, then stretch series, then select the one you are searching for, then 2 icons are going to appear, click the one on the right, now all the exercises with "tip and scaling" are available. Mauro Di Bert
Hi! First, thanks for all this post; are really useful. I still have the doubt about levels: should I do every level every time? If I don't checked them as done, it gets orange and not complete... How is the proper way? Thanks!!!
Alessandro Mainente
Hey Maauro, what course are you referring to? can you post the specific question in the specific private section?
