Hello

When lowering down on the rope climb as slow as possible, should one aim to fully extend the arms on each rep down or just get as many reps down as possible?

Hey Christopher,

Great question. A full lower to a straight arm is an excellent goal to shoot for with these. Be sensitive to your elbows though. Jumping into these has a high potential to irritate them if the proper foundation has not yet been built.

The Foundation Series had a wealth of progressions that prepare your upper body for the demands of rope climbs before specifically building rope climb strength. I urge you to look into those progressions and master your basics before specifically training rope climbs.

Generally speaking the TEMPO and the Range of motion of the single arm depend on the proficiency on a normal rope climbing where you bend the elbow in the descent part.

Thank you both for your advice :) I will definitely pay attention and build up to these slowly
