Alex Dienaar
This post is largely inspired by Ido's post about relative bodyweight. How well do you guys think gaining more muscle mass would work for gymnastics-oriented training ? The tradeoff of the added difficulty of 5-10 extra kg weighing down your planches/levers/etc for potential extra leverage, improved strength gains.I was planning on attempting something like this from the 1st of January on, starting off at 67kg at 1.83m. Following a 2 week alternating hyperthropy -> max strength cycles (ala acculmulation/intensification) combined with Paleo (stuff yourself-mindset) + Half-GOMAD.Would this even be plausible or a useless endeavour ?Opinions, tips, suggestions would be <

Gregor
How much muscle mass is the best for someone? That is an million dollar question. You can only see on yourself if you are stronger with more clean muscle mass or not. And other thing is what kind of hypertrophy you want. Hypertrophy with repetition strength (6-12 reps) or like Olympic lifters (1-3 reps). The bigger gain (or only one) will be with less reps but slower to it will and need more dedication.Big thing is to incorporate this in gymnastics where you have more or less holds and not ROMs...
