Partial labrum tear in right hip - how to research?

All,

 

I've had nagging hip pain and mobility issues for the last several months. Yesterday I got an MRI and my doctor called me to say I had a "partial tear of the labrum" and gave me the name of a hip specialist.

 

My question to the community is: what kind of questions should I ask? I want to get as much information as I can before deciding the next step, but I'm not an MD and I don't even know what I don't know.
