Azarian straight press to IC that's a new element for you isn't it?

Yes (at least in that valid execution).

Yes, I need to if I want to achieve my goals! now it's more about cleaning the routine, I could add 2 tenses up, but there is no point to do that because I won't be able to get any higher score till I wont get cleaner.

  • 1 month later...

Post after a long time, lately had alot of work (school, coaching,..) and so much of training itself-injury.

Brachialis rupture, so I didn't compeet at the last competition (nationals) and I hope i will able soon to start training (4th week of just doing rotator work and few minor exercises).

I did few tests, and one showed I have to strong and to weak back rotators (we are talking about ration beatween two of theese). It was all measured on machines (through computer) and result was 70:30 instead of 50:50...

Oh no! I'm glad you're able to start training again soon... I know time off is tough.

I have a few questions, and if it is possible to answer them that would be great. I want to learn more about exactly what happened!

Could you tell us which muscles were too strong and which were too weak? I would love to know what exactly was out of balance. I think that would be really useful information if you are able to find out and post exactly which muscles were measured and which were weak that would be awesome!

I am a bit confused by the brachialis rupture and the rotators mentioned together... I mean, that's the muscle under the most tension during straight arm work, but that was a separate incident, right? Do they think your rotators had something to do with the brachialis injury?

Man I'm so damn sorry to hear that :( Hopefully the time off will help other things (CNS regeneration, lower body flexibility, structural balance) and you can return stronger than ever! Hope you have a fast recovery!

Brachialis injury has nothing to do with shoulders and test,...Tired material, so slowely from small pain to large so not acute pain form one single event.

Shoulders instability was shown in a test wich was orginezd by our federation (shoulder stability test, ankle stability test and knee stability test, core stability test - this yet I need to do : rations beatween antagonist and patagonist muscles, we also measured ankle balance test, vertical jumps, rebounds, lactat test, antropometry).

Doctor discoverd I had 70% of strength of front rotators (deltoid, pectoralis,) and 30% of strength of rear rotators (supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor, teres major). Ideal ratio should be 50%/50%, for me ring specialist should be still ok 60%/40% ratio. Ultra sound showed to small infraspinatus (from 6mm to only 4mm at the end) doctor said it should be at least one half bigger.

He also discoverd I had scapula motion disyfunction (not retracting enough to sides and turning out), so I got retraction and protraction exercises.

I got ultra sound examination also for brachialis and showed rapture 8mm around the "whole" but this was after 2 weeks off and it was already cca. 40% healed (scaring) so next week I have another ultrasound examination.

Therapy is rest and magnetic and ultra sound therapy.

For shoulders retraciton and protracitons and more exercises for back rotators.

I couldn't do upper body flexibility because all straight arm work hurts (I could do it but nothing good would happen from that) even a handstand and ring support was painfull on my brachialis.

what exercices are you doing for strengthening these?: supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor, teres major

Which is why I wrote lower body flexibility ;) But man I'm just really sorry to hear, hopefully it will heal fast. Sounds like you're in good hands at least. You shouldve come to the seminar instead of all this hard training, no injuries from that

 hahaha razz  maybe it would be better yes

 omegant: easier variations of cuban press (supportet elbows to shut down deltoids and work with other muscles) and "full and empty glass" abductions and adductions (just to 90°).

That makes sense. You will like part 2 of my shoulder videos, to be shot this weekend!

Ask about pulsing DC current on the brachialis. With the right machines you can actually sleep with that on, and healing time is cut in half. I do not know if that is available where you are at, it is hard to find people knowledgeable in electrical healing methods but if that is available it will literally be a godsend for you. You may also be able to simply get a prescription and purchase a "galvanic stimulator." They should come with instructions for use in healing, and cost around $200 US.

Basically it increases circulation and therefore healing dramatically in the area current is applied to. Of course, protein supplementation will help a lot too. A slow trickle of whey protein, much like an oral version of what is given to burn unit patients, can drastically speed up the healing process as well, though by no means as much as the DC current.

Not as good as I won't to be.

At last friday I could hold a BL without a pain in my arm. So still hurts in exercises in wich I don't need to even try.

I guess first half of this season will be lost.

Ok, after 3 month I'm starting again my journy!

I will had to train like an animal to get back in competitive shape and I hope at then of year I can compeet again.

I was invited to Prais world cup (this year just two world cups and you had to be 3rd at the end of scores or be in finals in Wrold Championship or be invited as I was). Bad sadly I can't go due to injury.

I got green light from my doctor (even though pain didn't completly go away) and yesterda I tried maltese (held it, I though I wouldn't , just litle feelling in muscle with no pain, the real pain is in iron cross,...).

Oh, and thanks for all the suporrt!
