Protraction vs no protraction

Hi, so Ive been wondering about this for quite some time about this.

Ive read or heard in instructional videos that you should protract your shoulders during a handstand, but a coach in my uni says its better to keep them neutral, because this way the handstand has better carryover to apparatus.

Would really love to hear some opinions from people more experienced in handstand work, as i would like to train it right from the start, instead of nurturing a ba habit that i will later on have to go back and correct.

Thanks in advance.

I protract in my pbar and highbar and rings handstands. Not sure what your coach is talking about when he says "protraction doesn't carry over"...
