Hey Shaolintobbe,

 

Thanks for posting this. Just read through it and found it fascinating. I particularly like the focus on maximizing "fitness after-effects" and minimizing "fatigue after-effects." It's like the complete opposite of the grind-you-into-the-ground mentality of many less-educated fitness models out there.

A famous powerlifter/coach (Dan John) once said something to the effect of, "Any idiot can smoke an athlete, but you have to know what you are doing to make him stronger and faster."  I think this is the line that divides "working out/exercising" from "training"- having a progressive program over time.

 

This article is pretty fascinating and I don't have time to read it all right now.  I'll delve more into it tomorrow.
