gim
Hello there ! I've got a question about part of hips flexor in planche training. There is no problem for me to hold tuck planche, solid planche lean, many exercises which also help to strenghten our shoulders in planche traning, but when I try to straighten my hips up, I completly lose my position. I can't even do that. I do not have movability in my hips I think or even strength. Friend of mine when he holds full planche position, he can lift his hips up and down with no problems.I hope u know what I mean. DO u recommend any exercise to improve my movability in my hips? Or maybe problem is with my flexibility? What do u think? Sorry for my english. Greetings! Edited October 21, 2014 by gim
Colin Macdonald
It sounds like it's a strength issue, not a mobility issue. People instinctively pike (bend) at the hips to shorten the body and lower the load on the shoulders. I'd go back to practicing planche leans while trying to maintain a posterior pelvic tilt and extending strongly through the legs with pointed toes, keeping your glutes and quads tight. Reduce the lean as much as you need to maintain a straight body. If you want more specific advice you can upload a video or picture.
Alessandro Mainente
the low ability to open the hips depends upon 2 things- big gluteus that is far more weak then normal and short hips flexors-medila gluteus that is far more weak the normal and short adductor. my suggestions are stretch what is tight and work over weak body parts with foundations planche material.
