Could that hinder any type of training, like the foundation workouts, and ring courses? Most plastic rings are bigger than FIG pipe diameter, so I was wondering if it's okay to get p
Rajesh Bhat
sorry my post got cut off, but i was gonna say :so I was wondering if it's okay to get plastic rings if they fit my budget, and if them not being FIG approved could hinder overall progress.thanks
Coach Sommer
- Being FIG approved has nothing to do with the diameter of the rings. It means that the rings are certified to be able to handle the stresses of the technical skills performed during competitive gymnastics training or competition.- Regardless of which brand of rings you select; do not select the currently popular oversized rings. These will greatly reduce the efficacy of the needed false grip strength development.Yours in Fitness,Coach Sommer
Rajesh Bhat
ThanksOne more thing:Is it okay if the rings are over 1.1 inch diameter size? Most aren't that size.So basically, it's okay if the diameter is under 1.25 inches, right?Thank you so much

My guess would be anything larger than 1.10 in (27.94mm).
