Interesting video covering differences in landing mechanics between athletes and dancers.

From my experience in the gym, correctly taught gymnasts tend to land more like the dancer using the ankle flexion to steady the landing and spring into rebound. Curious what coach has seen in his time coaching with regards to acl injuries in gymnasts.

Seems there are some common themes here eh? :)

I know ballet style training has been used by coach in the past for conditioning the Achilles. This makes me excited for movement. But I guess we should get the foundation posture down first.

I think you have to account for the fact that dancing is much more controlled than sports. You are much more in control of variables in dancing and there is less environment influenced improvisation.
