Christoph Pahl
Not too much. There is a reason bodybuilders don't train statics. And probably purely static planche training will not even get you a planche - this has been discussed a lot after Coach Sommers initial FL+PL article. Statics is improving muscular coordination and gives you fast gains, but only up to a certain limit.
Coach Sommer
To a degree yes, but why would you want to? This is similiar to restricting yourself to only using one finger while learning to play the piano. Paolo here on the forum focused exclusively on the planche and achieved it; however he is now having to go back and try to fill in all the holes that are now present in his physical preparation. timsen
Ofcourse you will, but its not ideal if you want big size "fast", have you ever seen a guy who can hold a full planche with good form and manage straddle planche pushups have small chest or shoulders?
