seiyafan
I have an arm span of 6 feet and holding two 15 lb dumbells at lateral raise with locked elbow is already stressful. I would imagine a gymnast in an inverted cross position is like me placing my bodyweight on both hands while stretched out, this is godly strength! Blows my mind. Daniel Burnham
It is a bit different from a raise. Your biceps ar facing down away from your body in an inverted cross so the force isn't only in the deltoids. But yes it is very hard.
Joshua Naterman
It's also more like half bodyweight per arm... See, that's much more realistic right?
Connor Davies
Anyone crazy enough to do weighted iron cross?
Joshua Naterman
Olympians do. Chen Yibing did his entire routine with a weighted belt. I forget if it was 15 lbs or 15 kilos, but it was something pretty intense.
Connor Davies
Yeah, but Chen Yibing weighs like, 130 pounds.....
Joshua Naterman
15-30 lbs makes a really big difference when it's not force-producing weight.
Karri Kytömaa
That probably makes the actual routine feel like child's play. Which it certainly seems like from videos.
Vagabond
I used to do weighted cross holds, when I was training it hard. I was able to do cross pull-ups, at some point. I miss training rings.
Connor Davies
Vagabond, why don't you train rings anymore?
