Joshua Slocum
As an exercise for developing strength in the muscles used for a maltese, it's probably fairly effective. There are probably more productive uses of your time, though, since it doesn't really progress anywhere. As an exercise to train the holding position for a maltese, I can't imagine it be super useful. Using a bar for support takes removes the difficulty of controling your hand position, which is one of the most difficult parts of holding the maltese. It would be much more beneficial to get a spot or use a counterweight system and hold the real position.
Jordi Van Gelder
Thank you. When i tried it, i felt much more stress on bÃceps, maybe because there is no support with dorsal.
