Starting out to help correct posture

Good day everyone, I am starting the Fundamentals and Stretch series in hopes of gaining flexibility, body awareness, and improved posture. To provide some background on myself, I am 28 years old and fairly trim. However, since 22 I’ve been working a desk job which requires about 90 minutes of commute time everyday. Basically, I sit— A LOT. Despite my attempts to move throughout the day I have developed tilted posture, laterally to the right. I have a lot of tightness in my right side. Calf, hamstring, glute, QL, and poor right shoulder mobility (years of fine motor movement with a mouse). Has anyone else experienced the same thing and seen improvements by sticking to these programs? Thank you, Michael
  2. I used to have this really bad neck paint from staring at my phone, and stumbled on this app a few weeks ago for Android phone users called "Posture". http://www.guidingtech.com/65025/text-neck-android/ Basically it runs in the background of your phone and let's you know if your holding your phone in a neck straining position. Honestly it's helped me be more mindful of my posture through the day - just thinking about it more often. Figured I'd share it with everyone who might have similar neck pain

    Anterior Head Carriage

Hey guys, I'm in school for massage therapy, and with all of the study has brought a huge detriment to my posture. Anyone have any good exercises they'd recommend for anterior head carriage? Thanks, and happy gymnasticing (gymnasticizing? gymansting? gymming?) Keith

    Scapula posture problem

Hello gymnasts! I have already read lots of posts of people helping other people here on Gymnastic Bodies, and now I thought I'd make a topic myself, asking for some help. So here's the problem: Even when standing up, feeling like my posture is right, I notice my scapula sticking out, also in a relaxed position. When I try to make my scapula not stick out, the posture I than get feels really unnatural. Is this in any way bad, and if so, what can I do to make it not stick out while keeping a good posture. Thanks in advance, Adriaan
